One of the easy home cooking sweet. It's very popular sweet in India. Most of the festival time (like Diwali,new year) they prepare a fresh jamun , kids love it. We can get ready-made jamun powder, you may use any brands.
Ingredients
Dry milk powder | : | 1 cup |
Ghee | : | 1 tsp |
Milk | : | 5 tsp |
Oil (for frying) | : | 250ml |
Sugar | : | 2 cup |
Water | : | 1 cup |
Cardamom | : | 4 |
Method :The syrup should be made earlier and kept warm. To make the sugar syrup add the 2 cups of sugar to 1 cup of water (2:1 ratio). Add 4 cardamom pods.Heat at medium for 15-20 minutes until sugar is all dissolved in water. Do not overheat. To make dough mix milk powder,ghee and milk in vessel. Make dough medium to soft (not too soft) format. Now make a small size balls be sure the balls won't get crack. Heat the oil in heavy bottom pan, if oil is ready to get fry make sure the flame in low, now fry the balls wait for brown color comes. Gently take fried balls and sock it in sugar syrup.Wait until 8-9 hours balls get sock it in syrup. Now the gulab-jamun is ready for serve.
